Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology

Aspen Grove Wellness is seeking postdoctoral fellows in adult clinical psychology for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 17, 2026 through August 16, 2027. In addition to our headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, we have an office in Hagerstown, Maryland and offer robust telehealth services that allow for in-person, remote, and hybrid training experiences. While at least some in-office presence is strongly encouraged throughout the fellowship year to support community, mentorship, and professional development, we are able to accommodate telework for fellows who are physically located in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
We are drawn to individuals who are self-motivated, deeply client-centered, collaborative in spirit, and, above all, kind. Aspen Grove Wellness values clinicians who approach this work with humility, curiosity, and respect for the complexity of human experience. We are particularly interested in candidates seeking specialized training in adult psychotherapy, including work with complex trauma, relational and attachment-based concerns, and personality development.
Postdoctoral fellows receive training across a range of theoretical orientations, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and dialectical-behavioral approaches. Training is integrative and relationally grounded, with an emphasis on clinical depth, reflective practice, and thoughtful case conceptualization. Fellows also have opportunities to learn about the administrative, ethical, and operational aspects of running a values-driven group private practice, including exposure to leadership-development, systems-building, and sustainable practice models. BASE SALARY

$70,000–$95,000 annually (based on experience, licensure level, and clinical expertise)

Clinical productivity incentive: Earn up to $65 for each session above your base of 27 client hours per week — paid out quarterly to reward your dedication and effort

Requirements

Valid license to provide clinical therapy issued by a state board (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, PsyD, or similar credentials)
